Teacher of Science with some Maths (HERs).

This is a fixed-term post from September 2021 until August 31 2022 in the first instance: 0.8 FTE (0.7 FTE HERS Science and 0.1 FTE mainstream Maths)

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive secondary academy, based in Keynsham, Bristol. The school is looking to add a Teacher of Science to its progressive and supportive Science Department ideally starting in  September 2021.

The role will include teaching and coordinating the delivery of Science with some Maths at KS3 and GCSE across year groups 7 to 11. You will support the Head of HERs to enhance provision and will get the chance to get involved with exciting project work throughout the year. Project work will include revising schemes of work and ensuring the curriculum is engaging to all learners alongside projects that support student attainment, well-being and engagement within the wider school. You’ll also lead by example, supporting learners to achieve to the best of their ability and you’ll enjoy that great feeling when your learners achieve grades beyond their dreams.

“We are a small, mixed, fully inclusive comprehensive school taking children from ages 11 to 16 and remain one of the best choices for learning in the area. For every student who attends our Academy, we aim to raise their aspirations, broaden their horizons and promote a life-long love of learning. We are situated in extensive grounds and ideally located between Bath and Bristol. We benefit from a number of links with the local community and have an excellent reputation.

We are looking for an inspirational part-time HERS Teacher with a science background to join our friendly, hard-working Hospital Education and Reintegration team from September 2021. You will be teaching predominantly Science but you also need to be able to offer a second national curriculum subject or curriculum activity to enhance our curriculum offer. In this role, this will be a 0.1 FTE maths mainstream role, i.e. one day per fortnight and predominantly KS3 but subject to ongoing timetabling to allow for a flexible working request. As such, all classes will be shared. Schemes of work will be pre-prepared for this alongside quality resources.

If you have an excellent track record of success and high academic achievement, we would love to hear from you.  We warmly welcome those candidates with SEND experience or hospital education experience, or those who have compassion and a desire to bring joy and learning to those children who need it the most.”
