Teacher of SEND 

Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a Teacher of SEND to work in a specialist provision in the South Tyneside Local Authority. This role is to start out on a long-term supply basis and for the right individual, lead to a permanent position.  

South Tyneside

£105 - £130 per day 

Salary is dependent on experience, training, and qualifications. QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is essential for this position along with experience teaching students with additional needs.

The role

This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday 08:30am – 16:30pm, teaching students who have a diagnosis of Autism (ASC), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

The successful candidate will ideally have Team Teach Training however this is not essential. If applicants are successful, you will have access to this course free of charge. 

Requirements

To be considered for the Teacher of SEND, you will:

  • Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Be available to work 5 days a week.
  • Ideally have experience working with young people with Autism (ASC) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
  • Have the ability to enthuse and engage students who struggle to regulate their emotions.
  • Have a calm and nurturing personality.
