We seek an inspirational, dedicated and passionate teacher of social sciences to start January 2020.  The ideal candidate for this vacancy will be enthusiastic about teaching sociology and psychology across KS4 and 5. In addition to this they will need to be able communicate to pupils an enthusiasm for these subjects, whilst remaining focused on outstanding progress. 

You will need to:

- have experience of teaching A-level sociology and/or psychology

- be willing also teach criminology and PSHE

- have knowledge and understanding of BTEC qualifications 

- be committed to high quality teaching and learning

- be inspirational in the classroom

- be committed to excellence

- be ambitious in your determination to ensure all learners achieve 

- be innovative, resilient and reflective

The Social Science department is a hard working team committed to raising the profile of the department within the academy across all of the key stages. Currently we offer a range of subjects and have implemented our own KS3 programme, STEPS that forms a pathway to studying social science subjects at KS4. The department enjoys a modern learning environment and first class facilities as a result of an extensive rebuilding programme completed in January 2013. All classrooms contain an electronic lectern with an inbuilt networked PC and visualizer, which is connected to an interactive whiteboard with inbuilt audio speakers.
