Values and vision
Melksham Oak Community School considers its school curriculum to be central to providing an engaging and relevant school experience for every one of its students. It believes that personalising the curriculum is also vital. According to the school, the curriculum in the sixth form continues to reflect the belief that students learn in different ways because a wide range of courses are offered to enable progression from key stage 4.
The school also believes it has a moral responsibility to equip not just students, but parents, relatives, and all other members of its community with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to and co-exist in an increasingly diverse society. In addition, links with schools in other parts of the world provide what the school sees as opportunities for students to learn about the wider world in which they live.
