Job overview

The governors of this very good, ambitious and still developing Catholic school wish to appoint a dynamic and inspirational teacher who is capable of teaching Design and Technology and/or Engineering. We are seeking candidates who are ambitious and can add a new dimension to our technology curriculum. St Mary’s is equipped with high specification new equipment and particularly offers exceptional facilities for engineering. The person appointed should have a proven track record at GCSE level and significant experience teaching KS3 Design & Technology. Candidates with different specialties will be considered.  If you are interested in developing professionally and can validate relevant experience this post offers a great opportunity to work in a school with an exciting future and where there is a great appetite for learning among the pupils. St Mary’s was judged to be a Good school by both OFSTED and Liverpool Archdiocese in June 2016. The school has made rapid and sustained progress since then and candidates are advised to visit the school to appreciate what that means in terms of climate, pupil conduct and our ambition. In 2018 St Mary’s was designated as a National Support School. If successful, you will be joining a very hard-working team of professionals who are supportive of each other, enjoy their work and have a clear understanding of the drive to help all pupils achieve. The building and facilities offer outstanding provision and we are committed to ensuring teaching and learning matches this.

The successful candidate will:

• Be an excellent practitioner.

• Have the knowledge and experience to teach across the whole range of age and ability.

• Be enthusiastic, resourceful and keen to ensure that the highest possible standards of student achievement, personal development and well-being are achieved.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff to share this commitment.  The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.

Application forms and further details are available via the school website or by contacting the school. We invite prospective candidates to visit us on a working day and experience the school ethos. Please call us if you wish to take advantage of this opportunity. Closing date for applications is 9.00am Wednesday 21st March 2018. Interviews will take place on Monday 26th March 2018.
