Teaching ServiceNormanhurst Boys High school with an enrolment of 740 students is an academically selective high school with approximately 85% of students from a language background other than English. The school has an exceptional wellbeing program, with a commitment to excellence and catering for the needs of high potential and gifted students. Focus is on maximising student learning outcomes within a holistic educational environment that incorporates a diverse range of extracurricular activities. The school also provides various opportunities to help students develop their leadership capacity. There is a particularly strong emphasis upon instilling awareness about importance of social justice and developing the values and attitudes that will enable them to make an outstanding contribution to society. The school values its partnership with the community and also has an autism unit.
Approval to teach Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation and Physical Activity and Sport Studies.
An understanding of curriculum and assessment with the proven capacity to develop and implement innovative, differentiated and high quality teaching and learning programs that improve learning outcomes.
Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and contribute to whole school programs to support the talent development of high potential and gifted students.
Capacity to contribute to the coordination of whole school sporting programs and sports teams.
