Position Information 

Jamison High School is a proud, comprehensive, co-educational 7-12 high school located at the foot of the Blue Mountains in Western Sydney. The current enrolment is 882 students. 10% of the school population identifies as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and 15% of students are from a non-English speaking background.Technology in the curriculum is a strong focus at the school and is well supported by the Bring Your Own Device program. To support this, the school has integrated Google Education into all learning activities. STEM initiatives are a feature of how the school collaborates across faculty areas and develops cross curricula programs to engage and challenge students in their learning. The school community has four core values: safe, respectful, aspirational, and learners. These values operate across all activities and programs at the school and are the basis for students' behaviour expectations and learning goals. The school has a collaborative and dynamic Support Faculty with seven classes that cater to the needs of students with autism.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
  • Approval to teach Science (7-12) and Biology. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and connections between staff, students and the wider school community to enhance student engagement.
  • Ability to work collegially as part of the Science Faculty to develop quality teaching programs and assessment that cater for students of all levels with a willingness to contribute to whole school initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data-informed practice to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
