Teaching ServiceKempsey High School is built on the lands of the Dunghutti people and has an enrolment of 498 students including 37% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students. It is a comprehensive high school (7-12), engaged in several initiatives to support students from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds and for students from low socio-economic status communities. Kempsey High School has recently been identified as becoming a Connected Communities High School in 2021.
There are currently 4 specialist support classes (6 in 2022) with an enrolment of 39 students and four classes (7-10) based on a home room across the curriculum teaching model. Our students that identify as Aboriginal are supported by an Aboriginal Education Officer, Clontarf Academy and NASCA. Our core values of Responsibility, Fairness and Cooperation underpin our school culture. The school fosters a positive learning relationship between staff and students and aims to deliver diverse, dynamic and quality learning experiences within an inclusive and collaborative environment. There is a commitment to nurture, guide, inspire and challenge students to enhance their capacity and strive towards achieving their potential. Kempsey High School is a proud member of the Macleay Public Schools (MPS).
Kempsey High School focuses on academic, sporting and cultural outcomes for students whilst valuing citizenship and contribution to the community. The school has strong links with the Parents and Citizens' Association, Macleay Valley Local AECG (MVLAECG), alumni network (KHASAN) and external agencies.

- Approval to teach Science, Biology, Chemistry and approval and/or willingness to teach Mathematics (Years 7-10).
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in planning, developing and delivering high quality teaching and learning programs and assessments that are differentiated to engage and support the needs of a diverse student body.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate as a member of the Science faculty and actively contribute to faculty projects and whole school initiatives.
- Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to the cultural, wellbeing and educational needs of students from low-socio-economic communities and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families.
