Position Information 

Sarah Redfern High School is a co-educational, comprehensive secondary school providing exceptional learning opportunities for all. Located in the suburb of Minto, the school serves a community in the South West Sydney Campbelltown area that includes a wide range of families from diverse cultural and socio-economic groups.

Our learning community is inclusive and made up of a diverse range of learners; including academically gifted students as well as students requiring learning support. In 2024 there are a total of 695 students enrolled at the school with 65% of these students being from a Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE ), while 12% of students identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

The school provides a safe and caring educational setting where the wellbeing of students is paramount. Our wellbeing initiatives focus on proactively supporting all students in improving their learning and ensure they feel connected to their school community. There is a strong focus on providing opportunities for leadership, enhanced learning experiences and engagement.

The school has a strong focus on supporting students to successfully engage in learning and provides support for students with wide ranging learning disabilities as well as students who demonstrate high potential/giftedness. Whole school literacy and numeracy programs deliver targeted teaching to all students in Years 7-10 providing them with strong foundations to support them in post-school pathways.

The school is located in an area with strong connections to the local Aboriginal community and the Dharawal people. The school strives to build to strong relationships with Aboriginal students and their families as well as in the wider community. The school places a significant value on the knowledge and expertise of local Aboriginal elders and incorporates this into school life in many ways.

We are well supported by our community especially in regards to the provision of broad ranging learning opportunities focusing on a well-rounded education. Our highly skilled and motivated teachers deliver quality educational programs with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and ICT. We foster high standards and have high expectations that every student will succeed in their learning.

  • Approval to teach Science.
  • Capacity to provide differentiated learning opportunities for all students. 
  • Capacity to deliver high quality and engaging lessons that foster a culture of high expectations. 
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to work collaboratively and contribute effectively within a faculty.
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
