Job overview

Yewlands is on the verge of an exciting transition as we move to our new preferred sponsor Briganita Learning Trust (BLT).  Brigantia Learning Trust is a successful 2-18+ Academy Trust in the north of Sheffield. It was borne out of the success of Hinde House 3-16 School which was graded as strongly good by Ofsted in 2012 and 2016.

We are expanding our Science Department for September 2018.  Are you looking for future exciting opportunities? Do you have the enthusiasm for teaching and learning that motivates both staff and students?

We are looking for an excellent teacher, who is determined to make a difference to our students; you will be motivated and passionate about learning; a good team player with a commitment to high quality, inclusive education and be willing and able to contribute to the wider school community.

In return you will receive:

  • the opportunity to improve the life chances of our students
  • first class continuing professional development
  • the latest technology and learning environment
  • the opportunity for significant career development

We welcome contact from anyone considering applying to Yewlands and encourage prospective applicants to visit the Academy to meet our outstanding student body.

The school culture is one of tolerance and mutual respect, adding to its sense of community. Parents are valued partners in Yewlands' work. As a secondary school, it also ensures a smooth transition from Year 6.

Ofsted

“There are many examples of good practice around the academy. Some teachers deliver lessons that get the very best from their pupils. In these instances, pupils are excited and engaged throughout and their learning is rapid. Senior and middle leaders are committed, passionate and have absolute determination to succeed and improve outcomes for pupils. Pupils feel safe and parents agree that they are safe.”
