There is strong community support available to the school and it strives to position itself within the community as a vital and viable community asset and a strong contributor to community values and ethos. The centre houses a maximum of fourteen boys at one time and the boys stay at the centre on a voluntary basis for one school term (10 weeks). Whilst at the Centre the boys engage in educational, sport, recreational, health programs, life and living skills and cultural activities which have been designed to incrementally develop participant’s skills and abilities. Educational programs focus on literacy and numeracy and incorporating Aboriginal perspectives and culturally relevant language, art, dance and sport.

The Learning Centre is staffed using a special education model, with two classes of 7 students. The educational program maintained by the school includes one Head Teacher, two Classroom Teachers and two School Learning Support Officers employed by the Department of Education and placed within Coleambally Central School’s supervision.
