Position Information 

Quirindi Public School is a rural school with an enrolment of 281 students of which 31% identify as Aboriginal. The school currently consists of 11 mainstream classrooms and 1 Multi-Categorical (MC) class.

Quirindi Public School has a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and leadership excellence and is committed to the ongoing implementation of the Positive Behaviour for Learning program (PBL). Staff are committed to the ongoing improvement of our school through the delivery of quality teaching and participation in targeted professional learning aligned with the Strategic Improvement Plan.

The school has a close working relationship with the P&C and the wider school community to positively impact student learning and wellbeing outcomes.

Specific Selection Criteria 

1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with additional learning needs, such as, mental health, emotional disturbance, behaviour difficulties, moderate intellectual disabilities, autism, and other complex learning and support needs. 

 

2. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work collaboratively, proactively and professionally with colleagues, parents, carers, school learning support officers, support agencies and the wider community. 

 

3. Demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing with the ability to develop and effectively implement individual learning plans, behaviour support plans and risk management plans with all stakeholders to support the behavioural, social, sensory and learning needs of students. 

 

4. Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive school culture and school-wide wellbeing practices with knowledge and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal Education policies. 

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
