Teaching ServiceBerkeley Vale Campus, which is a junior campus and part of the Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College, has a student population of 828 with 12.7% being Aboriginal students and embraces the concepts of inclusivity, accessibility and diversity as well as providing high quality education. Our students are fully supported on their journey to becoming self–motivated learners, confident and creative individuals, fully equipped with the personal resources to maximise their potential and achieve future success and well-being. To provide a quality education for every child, we are committed to identifying the unique needs of every student and to planning a response to every students' needs. At Berkeley Vale Campus teachers can and will meet the needs of students through syllabus adjustments, pedagogical practice and success criteria to support every student to demonstrate what they know, understand and can do. Well-being and student learning support have been key drivers for strategic improvement at Berkeley Vale Campus and a number of learning support and behaviour programs have been established and are having a positive impact on well-being and achievement within the school. Our Positive Behaviour for Learning processes are embedded and we are committing to continuing a focus on consistency of practice.
Approval to teach special education and/or willingness and experience working in a Special Education Unit with autism, emotional disturbance, mild intellectual disability, moderate intellectual disability and challenging behaviours.
2. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate flexible teaching and learning programs and assessment with a focus on adjusting the curriculum.
3. Demonstrated ability at developing and implementing a whole class positive behaviour management system.
4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team and build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, external agencies and the wider community.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
