Position Information 

Regents Park Public School provides learning opportunities for approximately 250 students. The school is located in the Chullora Principals Network in South Western Sydney. 88% of students come from Non-English Speaking Backgrounds. The most represented groups are from Arabic, Tongan, Vietnamese and Pacific-Islander backgrounds. The school has 11 mainstream classes and 3 Support Unit classes. The school focuses on teacher professional learning and effective parent and community partnerships to improve educational outcomes for all students through tailored personalised learning in a supportive and respectfully challenging learning environment. 

  
Specific Selection Criteria 

Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with complex needs such as mild/moderate intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavioural difficulties.

 

Demonstrated ability to develop a positive and well-managed learning environment, through the implementation of quality differentiated curriculum, including the development and implementation of student personalised learning and support plans and behaviour plans that impact positively on student engagement.

 

Demonstrated capacity to be a positive, proactive and collaborative team member to improve educational outcomes of students with disabilities.

 

Highly-developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills that contribute to a culture of inclusivity, with the ability to proactively engage with students, colleagues, parents/carers, school learning support officers, external agencies, and the wider school community.

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
