Teaching ServiceMenai High School is a comprehensive, co-educational high school located in Illawong, Sutherland Shire on the southern outskirts of Sydney region with an enrolment of 1261 students in 2022. The staff are highly experienced with very small staff turnover.
Menai High School offers an extensive curriculum with a focus on academic excellence, student welfare and extra-curricular programs. Areas of focus for the school plan 2021 – 2024 are the explicit teaching of literacy and numeracy across the school, collaborative practice, and differentiation. Our students are highly motivated learners who excel academically across the curriculum. The school prides itself on its academic record and on-going commitment to high standards of student improvement.
Approval to teach Design and Technology (DAT) and Textiles and Design / Textiles Technology (TXD)
Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative faculty member who contributes to programming, assessment and resource development and supports whole school initiatives that embeds the school’s strategic directions.
Proven ability to meaningfully integrate information communication technologies (ICT) into teaching and learning practices to extend and engage student learning in TAS areas of curriculum.
Demonstrated capacity to provide engaging and challenging differentiated lessons and programs to cater to diverse student learning including high performing students and students with additional learning and support needs.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
