Position Information 

Woodland Road Public School is located in St Helens Park, 5 km south of Campbelltown.

Our feed areas of Bradbury, Airds, St Helens Park and Wedderburn, are suburbs which are diverse in social and economic context, yet connected by the school. Set in an attractive, spacious, natural environment the school strives to provide quality teaching and learning programs to move children beyond their potential.

The student enrolment (273) includes Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students (14%), non-English speaking background students (36%) as well as students requiring additional support in learning, mobility and social skills.

The school motto "Thrive Through Opportunity" is clearly demonstrated by students achieving success in a caring environment. With a focus on literacy and numeracy, our experienced staff is able to differentiate learning to cater for the needs of the individual.  The school is continuing to utilise emerging technologies to support learning.

Future focussed skills are balanced with fundamentals, creative arts and sport to provide each child's education through active involvement in community events and classroom activities.  The school is well supported by an active P&C.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 
  • Approval to teach infants and primary and the ability to deliver quality, differentiated K-6 literacy and numeracy programs with a strong understanding of syllabus documentation and the use of data to inform teaching. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop relationships and engage students, staff and members of the community to contribute to a positive, cohesive school culture.
  • Demonstrated capacity to enhance whole school debating and public speaking programs.
  • Ability to enhance and support whole school Information Communication Technologies and effectively support student and staff learning around emerging technologies.
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
