TEACHERS OF SCIENCE
Full-time & Part-time vacancies
(Main Pay Scale)
NOR 1654 (446 in Sixth Form)
CLOSING DATE: 18 April 2019
INTERVIEW DATE: 25 & 26 April 2019
High Storrs is a high-performing 11-18 secondary school on the South Western outskirts of Sheffield that has benefitted from a £27m refurbishment of our Grade II listed building. Serving a multi-cultural learning community with high expectations and high aspirations, we are an over-subscribed school. We have recently converted to become an academy as part of the Minerva Learning Trust.
We are firmly committed to a holistic approach that combines academic delivery with strong pastoral support. We place a high value on teamwork, providing exceptional development opportunities in a supportive and forward thinking culture. We are currently rated Good with Outstanding Features by OFSTED (November 2013), with a total of 1654 students, 446 of which are in the sixth form.
We are seeking to appoint Science teachers who are enthusiastic, committed and reflective practitioners. The successful candidate should be able to teach KS3 through to GCSE and the ability to teach A Level is essential. Flexibility to offer some core ICT or Health and Social Care would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will work with existing members of the Science team to maximise success for all students. The post is suitable for both NQTs and more experience colleagues. Our large and successful Science department prides itself on its innovative practice, consistently high standards of teaching and learning, and commitment to the success of all students.
Further details can be found in the job information pack on our website (www.highstorrs.co.uk). We are able to offer combined pre-application visits (for all posts) on Tuesday 26 March 2019 and/or Monday 25 April 2019 from 3.15pm until 4.30pm. We appreciate that not everyone can make a tour of school prior to application. Please note that as part of our interview process we include a tour of school for all posts. If you would like to visit the school, please contact Alison Foulkes (PA to the Headteacher) via email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01142670000.
To apply, download an application form via our website http://highstorrs.co.uk/our-school/teaching-vacancies and send all electronic applications addressed to The Headteacher at email@example.com. Please provide telephone numbers and email addresses for yourself and referees.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share their commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
