Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are a Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent and experience working with children with hearing difficulties. 

ASAP start, temporary, until the end of the academic year  

The role 

Work with teachers to support the learning, educational progress and inclusion of the pupil with a hearing impairment, with the aim of narrowing any attainment gap they have with their hearing peers. You will be providing support as agreed with the teacher, this may include pre-tutoring support to ensure pupil has the necessary knowledge and familiarity with the vocabulary and concepts used in the lesson. It may also involve post-tutoring to check understanding and reinforce key learning points.

Large, ‘good’ school based on the outskirts of Bristol.  

Requirements 

To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will: 

• Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent 

• Have experience supporting children with SEND

• Experience working with children with communication or hearing challenges

• Have knowledge and understanding of the KS1/KS2 curriculum 

• Be able to work all week

• Have a DBS on the Update Service or, willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
