Teaching Assistant/HLTA

Altarnun Primary is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join its friendly team, delivering a curriculum that promotes pupils to ‘Learn together and Grow together’. Candidates must demonstrate enthusiasm, compassion, excellent communication skills and be flexible. Higher Level Teaching Assistants are also welcome to apply. 

Altarnun Primary School is part of the Launceston College Multi Academy Trust (Trust) alongside Egloskerry Primary, Launceston Primary, Atlantic Academy, Bideford College and Launceston College.

The successful individual will take a pro-active role in the support of the educational, social, emotional and physical needs of the pupils; to support the curriculum and the school through the provision of assistance to the teacher in the practical organisation of class activities and small group work.

Hours: 20 per week, 9am – 1pm, with the possibility of future flexibility, 5 days a week, term time only.

Teaching Assistant Grade B, £9.90 per hour, with effect from September 2022 (£19,099 FTE), Actual salary based on 20 hours £8,539.40

HLTA Grade C, up to £10.88 per hour (20,980 FTE), Actual salary based on 20 hours £9,380.42

Contract: Fixed term from Monday 5th September 2022 until July 2023.
