If you are an enthusiastic and highly motivated SEN Teaching Assistant seeking to join a welcoming and experienced support team, we would like to hear from you.
You will be required to work on a one-to-one basis, or provide in-class support to students who have a wide range of learning, medical or behavioural difficulties, though predominantly Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues. Specific knowledge of working with children with Autism is highly desirable, as is either a specialism in Maths or Science. The role is demanding but rewarding. The successful candidates will ideally have experience of supporting students with these type of needs along with a relevant NVQ qualification in Childcare or equivalent.
Our Teaching Assistants work alongside the class teacher and the Intervention Manager to deliver high quality learning experiences, which improve rates of progress for pupils. They also use their initiative and are proactive in supporting individual pupils across the class. Experience of delivering interventions to improve the development of speech and language and social skills are desirable. High expectations for all the children are essential as is the ability to demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills. The role requires effective communication and teamwork skills. In addition, successful candidates must be committed to all aspects of school life.
Hours of work are 25 per week, term time only (38 weeks per year).
