Teaching Assistant, Level 2 & 3

1 year fixed term. Mon-Fri, 32.5hrs per week, term time plus 5 training days.

The Harbour School is a special school for boys who have social, emotional and mental health needs. Many of our students have had to overcome significant difficulties in their lives and have struggled to succeed in other educational establishments; in some cases, they have been regarded as unteachable.

We asked our students what qualities they wanted in a teaching assistant. They want someone who:

• can help them with their work when they cannot do it;
• will support their teachers;
• will help them when they don’t feel great.

Class sizes are small (8 students maximum)

The school offers an on-going and inclusive CPD programme to develop our understanding of the young people we work with.

The School will be having an informal open evening on 22nd November 2017 between 4.00pm and 5.30pm. This will be an opportunity to talk to staff about the school and for us to answer any questions you may have. We also arrange appointments for visits during the school day.
