Salary: £17,600 - £18,600 pro rata

31.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Ebor Academy Trust is a multi-academy trust serving children aged 2 to 16. It is our aspiration to develop geographical hubs of schools that share our values.

Tockwith Church of England Primary School is a small and growing school in a beautiful location, just outside the City of York. Based on the West side, it is easily commutable from Leeds, Harrogate and Wetherby. Rated Good by Ofsted and outstanding by SIAMs, it is a progressive school which has embraced technology, with all Year 2 students onwards working on Chromebooks.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team and work in our Year 1 classroom. This is a permanent position working 31.5 hours per week (which includes three 30 minute lunch time duties) for 39 weeks of the year.

Within the role you will work under the direction of the class teacher, SENCO or member of the School’s Management Team, undertaking pre-planned work and using your initiative to enable pupils to access learning activity. Working with individual pupils or small groups of pupils, you will assist with the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress, providing feedback to the teacher.

We are looking for someone who has a minimum level 2 literacy and numeracy qualification, coupled with experience of working with children in a supportive capacity. With a good knowledge of child development and children’s personal development needs, you will be resilience in the face of challenging pupil behaviour and will take appropriate action to meet pupil’s needs as they arise.

A team player, you will have excellent communication skills for communicating with pupils, teachers, parents and relevant others. Strong time management and organisational skills are essential, as is being a competent user of IT.
