Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives? Spring Lane School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team from September 2024. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic Secondary Pupil Referral Unit, helping engage young people in their learning journey and shaping their futures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the delivery of lessons and learning activities.
  • Working closely with teachers to provide intervention support tailored to complement the curriculum and assist with its implementation.
  • Supporting form tutors and class teachers with various aspects such as attendance, behaviour, SEND, and parent engagement.
  • Assisting the SENCO in meeting pupil engagement plans and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) needs across the curriculum.
  • Promoting students' wellbeing and engagement in the learning process.
  • Assisting students with their social and emotional needs, encouraging positive behaviour and resilience.
  • Helping to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborating with staff to develop and implement effective strategies for student success.

Key Requirements:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience and understanding of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competent Literacy and Numeracy skills
  • A genuine interest in working with young people, particularly those with additional needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students' needs.

The post is 32.5 hours per week term time plus 5 PAD days.
