Now is an exciting time to join Melksham Oak Community School in Melksham, Wiltshire. We have an inspiring team of teachers and school leaders and now we are seeking to appoint an engaging and supportive Teaching Assistant to work collaboratively with our faculties to provide the best classroom learning experience for our students.


If you are a nurturing, proactive and self-motivated individual, ideally with previous working experience within a school environment or enthusiastic and dedicated about becoming a key member of the team here at our school, this may be the opportunity for you! 


Our ideal candidate will be or have


  • Minimum of GCSE Grade C in Maths and English;
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people including students and colleagues;
  • Committed to the Safeguarding of students and young people in line with KCSIE;
  • Able to encourage and enable others to develop their full potential;
  • Able to uphold The White Horse Federation values and practices.

Developing our team


Whether you’re an experienced Teaching Assistant, with all the knowledge that comes with your career, or starting out and ready to begin your career but need support and investment, The White Horse Federation are here for you.


We take learning and development seriously for our colleagues and, whether you want to gain a Level 2 or 3 qualification via an apprenticeship (depending on experience) or want to seek learning-on-the-job with a view to becoming  qualified teacher in the future, there are options for you here within our Multi Academy Trust.


Course Length: 12-18 months for an apprenticeship L2 or L3 TA.

Contract: Fixed Term Contract with a view to go permanent if successful on apprenticeship completion. 

Apprentice Salary: £12,725 pa
