We are seeking to expand our highly successful Teaching Assistant team and are looking for additional colleagues to join our College. You must be committed to supporting young people to achieve their potential and remove their barriers to learning. Our Teaching Assistant team provides outstanding support for young people and we are looking for energetic and focused people with a commitment to work with students in the College to support their academic progress and emotional well-being.

To work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/ care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for students. Work may be carried out in the classroom, support centre or outside the main teaching areas.

A selection of tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour plans and Personal Care programmes.
  • Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students and encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities.
  • Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence.
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher or line manager.
  • Monitor students’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed.
