Job overview

The successful candidate will be based within the Learning Support Department and will be patient, consistent, determined, hard-working and interested in helping young people to succeed.

As a school our academic results are exceptional. The Howard School regularly achieves very high rates of students gaining 5 A* - C grades including English and Mathematics at GCSE, and our excellent Progress 8 score from last year for all groups of students demonstrates our commitment to each and every one of our learners. We remain one of the best performing non-selective schools in the South East, and continue to challenge the stereotypical view of underachievement in young men.

We value our staff and actively support their professional development, and have redesigned our working week from September 2017 to place even greater emphasis on staff development.  If you are looking to extend your experience and would be interested in joining our team, we would be delighted to hear from you.  We offer an extremely attractive and very competitive financial package.

The Howard School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. References will be taken up for those candidates short-listed for interview. The successful candidate will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.

For further information please contact Sharon Teachen, HR Manager, The Howard Academy Trust by telephone on 01634 265771 or email (hr@thatrust.org.uk).

The closing date is midday on Friday, 21 September.

We reserve the right to alter our interview dates and close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response.
