Hours of work: 08.00 16:00 (With expectation to stay late one night of the week for team meeting until 17:00)

Salary: £20,000 - £25,000

Timeout is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to help our learners re-engage with learning and education within a specialist school setting.

Someone who thrives to help others, strong behaviour management skills, patient and resilient would be perfect for this role. We currently have three schools; Riverbank Primary School (Ofsted rated good with Outstanding features) which has children aged 6-11, Brearley Hall School (Ofsted rated good) and a recently opened Brookland School which is situated in a grand 19th Century Victorian house.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed Teaching Assistant to join our ever-growing team. We welcome applications from individuals with a range of backgrounds and who are at different stages in their career development. We are very passionate about learning and development, if you are wanting to grow and excel then Timeout is the place for you. You will be joining our fun and dedicated team, delivering and supporting lessons in a creative way, using methods and techniques that our children respond to and engage with.

We are an independent SEMH School with an emphasis on the secure base model and have a therapeutic approach to our children, many of whom have suffered severe trauma and been excluded from all other educational provision.

Responsible to: The Schools Lead Teacher

We are looking for:

- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.

- Experience of working with SEMH children is desirable, however enthusiasm and willingness to promote effective, inclusive education for children with SEMHs valued.

- Someone who can work closely within a team and can be an effective team player.

- Someone who is compassionate, enthusiastic with a passion to promote a healthy and happy learning environment.

- Someone who understands a therapeutic approach or a willingness to embrace the Timeout approach into their pedagogy.

- Experience of working with highly challenging behaviours.

- Experience of managing behaviours through interventions, support and de-escalation.

- Emotional resilience and motivated by challenge.

- Experience in assisting in Individual Education Plans

- A consistent and firm approach to classroom support.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative working.

- Strong ICT skills

- Adaptable and the ability to cater to every individuals needs.

- A passion to make a difference to the lives of our young people.

- Ability to be reflective, dynamic and creative in their practice.

Candidates will be required to apply for a DBS certificate which will be reimbursed by Timeout upon successful probationary period. The successful candidate will be responsible for the DBS update service subscription cost (currently £13.00 per year).
