A helping hand from you. A head start for them.
We want all our young people to have the best chance of success in life. To make sure that’s the case, you’ll give them extra help when they’re in the classroom. The right support can really make an enormous difference. As a Teaching Assistant, you have to be understanding and committed. That’s because the young people in our schools have social, emotional, mental health and complex learning needs that call for extra dedication. Help them progress and you’ll have every opportunity to do the same with your career.
The role
As a Teaching Assistant at Queensmead House School, you’ll be working directly with young people in the classroom every day. You’ll help them learn, monitor their work and help raise their self-esteem. It’s not just about academic achievement; we want them to feel accepted and confident in their abilities. You’ll need to be very resilient and dedicated to the wellbeing of our young people. Your support can be invaluable to teachers and young people, which means it’s very rewarding.
Your profile
As an experienced Teaching Assistant already, you should be used to life in the classroom and up to date with welfare and safeguarding practices within Education. You’ll also need to be qualified to at least NVQ level 2 (or equivalent), but what we’re really looking for is the ability to connect. We need you to build great relationships with all our young people, so you can motivate them to do well and be the best that they can be. If you’re emotionally strong and good in a team, we can offer a role with exciting prospects. There are occasional meetings outside school hours, which your attendance will be required.
