John Blandy Primary School is a growing and successful school with happy,

well-motivated and hardworking children and staff.

We require an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for 27.5 hours per week 

(including lunchtime duty) to start as soon as possible.

Applicants should be able to work well in a team and be flexible, have a positive outlook and high expectations of all children and have a good standard of numeracy and literacy (GCSE grade A – C).

A visit to the school before the closing date would be most welcome.

John Blandy Primary School is a small primary in the village of Southmoor, Oxfordshire. Named for an 18th century Sheriff of Berkshire and founded around the same time, the school has fewer than 200 pupils aged 4-11. 

John Blandy Primary became a member of the Faringdon Academy of Schools in 2013, forming a multi-academy trust along with several other local primary and secondary schools. As part of the school’s future development plans, John Blandy Primary will be undergoing extensive expansion and modernisation over the coming years.

Values-based education plays a huge part in the school, with students being educated in the importance of tolerance, diversity and individual liberty. In terms of academic practice, John Blandy Primary School offers a rich skills-based curriculum and prides itself on the academic expertise of its teachers.

They have good opportunities to develop their writing and their skills in mathematics … Teachers have established good relationships with pupils.
