Job overview

Smart Teachers is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant / TA / Learning Support Assistant / LSA to join a good primary school in Hackney from January 2019 (or ASAP for right candidate). This position will be to support two pupils who display challenging behaviour and ASD (undiagnosed). The suitable Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant must have recent and relevant experience working with pupils with special educational needs. This is a long-term contract until the end of the academic year.

In order to be considered for this role, the Teaching Assistant / TA / Learning Support Assistant / LSA will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Proven experience of Teaching Assistant work in the UK (or an equivalent role)
  • Have strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Confident working with pupils with challenging behaviour 
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS / police checks
