Job overview

Help us give children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties the best possible start in life.

At the heart of Academy Transformation Trust, Phoenix Academy supports primary age pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural issues. Our Thematic Curriculum introduces a new topic every half term and stimulates a real love of learning, and we are passionate about the Every Child Matters agenda – so we’re giving vulnerable children everything they need to become happy, stable and productive citizens.

Already a Teaching Assistant in a primary school or academy, you will bring the drive, resilience and passion to instil lasting values and make a huge difference every day. If you’re familiar with supporting children with special educational needs, so much the better; if not, you will relish the unique challenges this brings and the exceptional satisfaction of creating tolerant, well-mannered young people who can thrive at home, at work and in the community.

Naturally, an NVQ in Teaching or Learning (or equivalent qualification) would be very useful, as would formal training in child protection, but it’s your outgoing nature, flexibility and inclusive, nurturing approach that will matter most. In return, we can offer you total involvement in everything we do and prospects that could take you anywhere within the school or the Trust’s network of 22 academies.

For an informal discussion or to arrange a visit, please contact Cheryl Mason: c.mason@academytransformation.co.uk

To apply now, please visit www.academytransformationtrust.co.uk/vacancies and complete the online form.

Closing date: Midday on 12 December 2017.

Academy Transformation Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and the successful applicant must undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and reference checks.
