We have an exciting opportunity for you to make a significant impact as a Head of Year at our school. As a Head of Year, your purpose will be to support all pupils in the year group, enabling them to make progress and access ambitious futures.

You will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and nurturing environment where Pupils can thrive. The role has a teaching commitment, up to 60% timetable, and we do welcome applicants with any subject specialism. 

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a genuine passion for working with young people. You should also have the ability to motivate and inspire both pupils and staff, fostering a culture of high aspirations and continuous improvement.

George Eliot is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school without sixth form situated in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. A smaller than average-sized secondary school, George Eliot will provide 950 places for secondary students aged 11-16, when fully subscribed.

The George Eliot High School opened in September 1961, set up as a new provision for the housing developments being built in the Nuneaton area. The school has expanded in size several times since then to accommodate its growing pupil numbers, most notably in 2002 when two new buildings were opened.
