The JCB Academy was established in September 2010, the first of a brand new kind of school in the UK, with a focus on delivering high-quality engineering and business education.
Since opening we have been consistently successful - our Ofsted inspection in September 2018, recognised us as a “Good” school with “outstanding” features, including progress in mathematics, engineering and vocational courses and the dedication to keeping students safe and secure. Pupil numbers are growing - we have been oversubscribed every year, including for entry this September. Currently we cater for approximately 700 full time learners aged 13-18 as well as approximately 300 learners aged 16+ following apprenticeships.
We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational individual who is a workshop specialist in one or more of the following areas; hand fitting, lathe work, electrical or machining. This position is a great opportunity for somebody who has a desire to teach and develop young people in a unique environment with fantastic facilities.
You will work with learners aged 13-16 and be responsible for development of their workshop competencies. Teaching experience is not essential; however you must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver to this age group. There is no requirement to deliver measurable qualification outcomes; instead the focus is on providing excellent technical sessions that support learners in developing into competent engineers.
Support will be provided to ensure you develop into an effective practitioner and you will work within a close team of specialist subject tutors with a great deal of experience and competency.
If you have experience and can demonstrate that you have the potential to deliver high quality teaching we would love to hear from you.
If you are interested in the role, please send your CV to Alison Clements at Hays Education email@example.com or contact Alison on 0121 236 4476 for more details.
Closing date for applications: 9am on Wednesday 19th June 2019.
