Technician – Arts & Media
£16,383 per annum pro rata (actual salary based on hours/weeks £9,962.64 per annum, plus an element of holiday payment)
This position could well suit a highly organised, self-motivated and practical person with an Arts and Media background. The main function is to support the teaching team across the Faculty and to maintain the working environment of the Arts and Media areas. You will also contribute to the support of students in practical activities across the Faculty areas. You will assist in the preparation of materials for lessons as well as maintaining stock and equipment.
You will also need to have a strong grasp of Arts and Media processes; a good working knowledge of IT; a helpful and flexible approach to the work and be comfortable working closely with young people. You should be comfortable using Photoshop, and experience with computer aided design and other Design Technology processes and equipment would be advantageous, as would a knowledge of sculpture or photography.
The successful candidate will have a good level of education; ideally with subject related qualifications.
Candidates will also have a good knowledge of Safeguarding and Prevent.
