The Cherwell School is a high performing and oversubscribed comprehensive school in Oxford (1990 students on roll, including 620 in the Sixth Form). We achieved GCSE progress results in the top 5% of all schools in 2018. We are pleased that we hold an ‘Outstanding’ rating by Ofsted as we feel this is a fair reflection of the school, not least as we recognise that we have the capacity to develop and improve further. We consider ourselves to be a school which has at its heart “opportunity, responsibility, excellence” and we aim to make this a deeper reality for all of our students and staff in the years to come. Our aims are supported by our designation as a National Teaching School and as a School Centered Initial Teacher Training provider. We are committed to the professional learning and career development of our staff and work in conjunction with the River Learning Trust to raise standards.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic technician to work in our Art and Design Department, which is part of our Art, Design Technology and Engineering Faculty. It is a thriving faculty, based on both sites of the school (the sites are separated by the Marston Ferry Road). The South Site is predominantly for year 7, 8 & 9, while the North Site is for year 10 to 13 students. We are able to accept applications from those who have different skills within the Art area; including painting, drawing, printing, 3D, photography, digital technology, textiles and ceramics. Applicants with specialisms or a wide range of skills are welcome to apply.
This is an excellent opportunity and should you wish to be part of our future we welcome your application. For further information and to apply visit the website:
Please feel free to contact Mary Maguire, HR Assistant, on 01865 558719 if you would like to know more about the role or the application process.
The closing date for applications is Monday 22nd April 2019 at 9.00am
Interviews will be held on Friday 26th April 2019
