Applications are invited from suitably qualified teacher / person for the following position:

Temporary Full Time Teaching position for 2019 school year.


The successful applicant must be able to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning in partnership with the parent and indigenous communities.

The successful candidate will be a highly professional, growth-oriented practitioner with a demonstrated ability to:

  • Plan and implement effective teaching and learning units across all KLAs using the NSW Syllabus for the Australian Curriculum.
  • Contribute to the collaborative culture of the school as a Professional Learning Community.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students and parents.
  • Actively seek professional learning opportunities.
  • Use data to inform practice.
  • Assess and provide feedback on student learning.
  • Implement positive and supportive behaviour management practices.
  • Support students with additional needs.
  • Use technology effectively and creatively to support student learning.


Must have:

  • Current NSW Working with Children Check
  • must have full registration with NESA (with a minimum provisional or conditional accreditation status)


Applications must include a complete personal and professional resume detailing background and experience, service record, names, addresses and phone numbers of at least three referees including a current employer and Parish Priest or Pastor from their local place of worship.

About St Mary’s Primary School BOWRAVILLE

St Mary’s school in Bowraville, New South Wales, is a co-educational, independent primary school and part of the Nambucca Valley Parish. The school, which has been delivering a Catholic education for over 100 years, caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. It has a predominately indigenous enrolment.

The school is committed to retaining the traditional indigenous culture of the Gumbaynggirr people and for all its children to keep a connection with their identity.

Curriculum

The school provides a comprehensive educational program based on and taught in accordance with the Board of Studies and Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) syllabuses for Primary Education. The Key Learning Areas (KLAs) are English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Human Society and its Environment, Creative Arts and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education.
