This is a unique opportunity for someone to work with a large multi-academy trust covering the North of England. The successful candidate would be expected to play a substantial role in maintaining and improving upon existing high standards.
Northern Education Trust (NET) is a charitable education trust with an improving track record for school improvement. NET relentlessly focuses on standards because we know outcomes are paramount. Our decision making is driven entirely by what is best for children. A large number of new systems and procedures continue to be implemented and are already having a significant impact on the life chances of children across the Trust and this has been recognised in recent Ofsted inspections.
There are many challenges facing the education sector, however, NET continue to develop strong systems which are held in the highest regard by the Department for Education and Education and Skills Funding Agency which enable the Finance and Operations departments to work hand-in-hand with executives to best deploy our resources and ensure the effective and efficient use of our funding. You will gain a tremendous amount of knowledge about our highly regarded systems and help shape them as we continuously look to improve.
The Trust are seeking a Trainee Contracts and Procurement Manager who will work with the Chief Operating and Financial Officer, Director of Estates and Head of Finance to devise a pragmatic procurement strategy and contract management approach across the Trust and all of its academies in line with national best practice. You will be the professional lead on all procurement and contracted aspects of the Trust operation and help put in place sustainable approaches and savings on the wide array of goods and services that the Trust purchases.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a high level of personal integrity, be commercially astute and adopt a systematic approach to delivering value for money through transparent procurement in a large and complex organisation. Whilst it would be helpful if you had knowledge of this sector it would not be a barrier to any applicant as we will offer significant support and training to ensure you are as successful as possible in this role.
