Trainee Teacher of Mathematics

A high proportion of students continue to study Mathematics and Further Mathematics in the Sixth Form.
A well-qualified and inspirational Mathematician is required for a full time position for two years in the first instance, from September 2018 to August 2020. The ability and willingness to teach throughout the school, including the Sixth Form, is essential. The successful candidate should have the potential to teach A-Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Higher Level IB and Oxbridge lessons, although teaching all of these would not be expected initially.
The ability to work well as a member of a team and an eager and enthusiastic approach is essential. All members of the department are expected to share and develop their teaching practice and they all contribute to the Mathematics enrichment programme. This includes extension classes, competition training and Maths Challenge preparation.
This is an exciting opportunity for a new entrant to the profession, or for an experienced and unqualified teacher looking to gain further experience, a PGCE and QTS on completion, over a two year period. The position is subject to acceptance onto the relevant course and completion of the DfE skills tests.
The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience.
