The department of health, care and early years are looking to further expand their apprenticeship and short provision. They are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and dedicated Trainer/Assessors. Reporting to the Team Leader you will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of apprenticeship programmes including technical certificates and all associated responsibilities within programme delivery. You will be required to provide relevant training, support and assessment for a range of sector specific short programmes ranging from Level 1 to Level 4 including TAQA and Coaching & Mentoring qualifications.
You must have experience of assessing candidates on a range of programmes within a health, social care and /or early year’s settings and be familiar with SFA / ESF documentation.
A minimum two years of working within the sector would be an advantage. The role requires you to work as part of the health, care and early year's team to monitor and track the learner journey and to ensure appropriate support is implemented to maximise timely learner achievement. You should be familiar with quality processes such as close monitoring and tracking candidates on programmes to ensure timely success and excellent outcomes for all learners.
You are required to have excellent communication and ICT skills, be highly organised with very good time management skills and be able to work independently as well as part of a team, you must be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, have a strong work ethic and will share best practice with all members of the department. You will be required to be flexible in your approach with a ‘can-do’, ‘will-do’ attitude.
A relevant qualification in health and social care, preferably at level 5, a teaching qualification and TAQA / A1 and ideally V1 awards is also required for this post.
Delivery is Mainly in employer premises and also across College sites therefore a car driver and access to a car is essential.
Due to the nature of business growth in our work based learning you could be requested to deliver on other short programmes.

Background information
Gateshead College is a further education college and was established on November 15, 1995 at Durham Road in Low Fell, Gateshead. The original campus was closed as part of a planned move in January 2008. The college moved into a £39 million new main site located at the Baltic Quayside in Gateshead. More than £75 million has seen the development of six campuses, for academic and vocational courses.

The nearest Metro station to the Academy for Sport is Gateshead Stadium; it's about a 10 minute walk. Parking is available at the Academy for Sport and is operated on a first come, first served basis. There are three car parks which are free and you don't need to display a permit or ticket. Q1 and Q2 Quaylink buses run up to every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes in the evening. The 93/94 Loop bus runs from Gateshead Interchange and Heworth Interchange to four Gateshead College campuses; Baltic Campus, Academy for Sport, Skills Academy for Automotive, Manufacturing Engineering & Logistics and Skills Academy for Construction.
