We are seeking a Tuckshop Assistant to join our College.

About the role
As a member of the St Augustine’s College hospitality team, you will ensure the smooth, efficient and timely provision of support duties required to operate a quality Tuckshop service at our College.

This is a casual position of one shift per with the ability to cover other shifts. Shifts are Monday to Friday with the availability of working from 7.00am – 2.30pm commencing late May.

Duties are varied and include:
• food preparation
• assisting with restocking and displaying merchandise
• cleaning, and
• assisting students and staff using the service.
• You must be able to work independently and will occasionally be required to cover certain duties of the Tuckshop Convenor.

About you – you will bring to the role:
• Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen environment and operating basic kitchen equipment.
• Certification in basic Food Hygiene
• Basic cash handling experience
• Hold or have the ability to gain a Working with Children Blue Card
• Ability to work and interact positively with young people
• The ability to form positive relationships with colleagues and to be able to work as part of a close, well-functioning team within a sometimes, high pressure environment
• Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; 
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • provide evidence of full COVID vaccinated as directed by the Qld Chief Health Officer.

Total Paid Hours (per week) & days required: This is a casual position of one shift per week with the ability to cover other shifts. Shifts are Monday to Friday with the availability of working from 7.00am – 2.30pm commencing late May.

Salary level, range or hourly rate: Service Staff Level 2 - $35.20 per hour (casual rate)

Employment conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement

This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
