The Tuckshop Convenor provides a balanced range of nutritional food at a reasonable cost to students and staff within the school, while maintaining a high standard of hygiene in the preparation, presentation and serving of food.
The Tuckshop Convenor coordinates the daily administration of the school canteen, supervises canteen staff and provides quality customer service to students, clients and staff through professional, timely and cost-effective canteen and catering services, including in-house catering for College events.
As a member of the St Mary’s College staff, the Tuckshop Convenor is expected to ensure the Catholic Ethos and Mercy Traditions of the College are maintained and enhanced through their work, providing a welcoming and caring presence to our staff and students every day.
The Tuckshop Convenor will also provide event catering as required by the College including VIP Luncheons, Staff Retreats, Morning & Afternoon Teas, Excursions, Open Days and other special events. Previous Catering experience an advantage.

Estimated Start Date: Commencing May 2021
Position Tenure: Fixed Term
Weeks Worked: School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)
Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term): until December 2021
Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: Monday to Friday 7.6 hours per day (generally 6 am - 2 pm). Some additional hours required occasionally, including after hours and minor holiday work.
Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: School Services Staff - Level 3 - $29.05 per hour
Employment Conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
