We now have two classes in every year group from year R to Year 5, with Year 6 starting in September 2018. By growing slowly but steadily, we are able to give every one of our children a great deal of personal attention. We have a superb team of teachers and support staff, all of whom are experts in primary education.

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of school improvement, ideally including significant experience in inner-city, multi-racial and urban areas. It is important to be an outstanding communicator with proven strengths in engaging with, inspiring and motivating, not just the school community, but the wider community. Sound understanding of school improvement strategies is key, as well as the ability and to lead staff and the community towards the achievement of clear and inspirational goals.

  • Someone with high expectations of staff and pupils as well as themselves;
  • Commitment to achieving the best outcomes for all pupils;

  • Commitment to on-going professional development;
  • Someone who is willing to contribute to the wider life at the academy;
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of our leadership team.

Academy Ethos

Our aim is to make sure that, from the first day of their education, our pupils have a truly happy experience of school. This means teaching them to become confident learners and nurturing each child’s personality and character.

Whatever a child’s background or starting point, we want to make sure that they finish Year 6 with the academic skills, social skills and knowledge necessary to succeed. Every lesson at our school is creative and there is plenty of time for children to think, to play, to discover and wonder.

Each child is taught in the way that suits them best and we step in quickly if a change is needed. For some children, this might involve one-to-one support if they are finding something difficult and for others it could mean stretching them more to keep them interested.

Our school is relaxed and comfortable but pupils know that good behaviour is expected of them and are taught to respect each other and their teachers. They are frequently praised and rewarded for trying their best and for being kind, hard-working and well-behaved.

Our school is friendly and welcoming and we always make sure that every pupil has at least one friend.
