Job overview

City Junior School is a co-educational junior school which opened its doors in September 2022. Located in the historic and peaceful surroundings of Gray’s Inn, our architecturally designed buildings reflect traditional values and a modern and innovative approach to education. As the newest member of the family of City Schools, our pupils transfer directly to the City of London School and the City of London School for Girls.

We are looking for a Drum Teacher to join the City Junior School Music Department. Music and Performing Arts at CJS is inclusive, vibrant and purposeful. The vast majority of our pupils play one or more instruments and all thrive on the growing musical opportunities that enhance and enrich our curriculum. Our programme of concerts and performance opportunities make the most of our central location and our access to the facilities of the City of London Corporation. Although a new school, music is an integral part of school life and our choirs, string orchestras and other various guitar, percussion and wind ensembles celebrate our values of community and joy that we readily live out.

How to Apply

To apply, please complete the attached application form and return via TES.

Closing date: 9am on 17 May 2024

Interviews: Weeks commencing 20 May 2024.

CJS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as part of the selection process applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including employment references, criminal conviction & professional checks.

The City of London Corporation is committed to equal opportunities and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

About City Junior School

Our school

At City Junior School, we believe that children should be well supported to learn to the very best of their ability, whilst at the same time being given the freedom to fully enjoy their childhood.

Our pupils receive a rigorous yet rounded education. A thoughtfully designed curriculum provides them with opportunities to create, connect and collaborate both within and beyond the classroom. They are encouraged to ask questions, take risks and think creatively. Technology is used judiciously to enhance learning, and sport and the arts feature prominently in school life.

Kindness and compassion, for self and others, are modelled and taught; the happiness and wellbeing of your child is at the heart of all that we do.
