Job Description - Art Teacher
We are looking for a talented person to join our expanding Art team. This role will initially cover a maternity leave during the course of the current academic year. In January 2020, we shall move to our new flagship campus and the appointed teacher would cover anticipated growth from August 2020.
As a Visual Arts teacher, you will mainly be teaching Years 1 to 9. We work with the IB PYP, English National Curriculum, IGCSE and IB Diploma.
Our classes have a maximum teacher to child ratio of 1:24 (although most classes enjoy significantly lower ratios) dropping lower as children specialise in their IB Diploma. The learner population is made up of over 50 different nationalities giving our school a truly global experience.
When working within the Visual Arts team, you will be responsible for leading groups of children on specified activities, including learning tasks, CCAs, school trips and other duties.
Commitment to inclusion is required and knowledge of EAL would be desirable. Nexus has a well established Apple 1:1 scheme, so considerable interest and skill with digital technologies is expected.
In addition to your role we have extra-curricular activities that you are expected to support, based on your passions.
Experience of teaching Visual Arts in the Primary School IBPYP context is essential. The ability to teach Visual Arts in Years 7-9 using the English National Curriculum framework would also be an advantage.
Previous overseas experience is not required, however, the desire to work in a vibrant international inclusive community is essential.
