Queensbury is a large Secondary Special School (approximately 244, 11 – 19 year old students), which caters for students with Moderate Learning Difficulties and a range of complex needs. Our positive, caring ethos provides a safe, stable, hardworking learning environment where everyone is valued. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • The development of Literacy throughout the school and management of whole school Literacy and Communication Faculty budget
  • The development of Communication skills of pupils throughout the school, working with the Speech and Language Therapist and Speech and Language Assistant
  • The quality of education for Literacy Teaching and Learning across the school
  • The collection and analysis of data for Literacy, including management of pupil intervention and support programmes as required for pupils across the school
  • Working in partnership with other Faculty Leaders to develop and establish outstanding and innovative whole school approaches to teaching Literacy and Communication skills
  • The strategic management of the Literacy Faculty and a team of Literacy teachers across the whole school
