We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and suitably skilled manager who is committed to providing exceptional service, to join our high profile Independent Day and Boarding School.
As a Works Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for organising and managing the schools’ directly employed labour team and the management of specialist sub-contractors to ensure all planned and reactive maintenance works are effectively carried out.
This is a significant role within the department and wider School, which will provide the opportunity for the right person to showcase their management and specialist skills within a growing business and in return, provide an opportunity to enhance your career and make a difference to our students within a prestigious environment.
Responsibilities include the day to day maintenance across both schools, management of contractors and staff, including recruitment and selection, administration of stock and materials and project planning. The successful candidate must be exceptionally organised, have prior people and management experience with an emphasis on planned and reactive maintenance within an educational or hospitality environment. It is essential that applicants demonstrate their commitment to providing excellent customer service and have experience in statutory compliance for utilities, mechanical & electrical systems, Health and Safety, budget management and hold a 17th Edition qualification (or equivalent). We would particularly welcome applications from those who hold a pool plant qualification, a current Reg 10 & L8 qualification and working knowledge of RO systems and water production.
This role is a permanent position working five full days per week between Monday and Saturday (8:00am to 5:00pm) plus call-out duties one week in every three. The starting salary is up to £35,000 per annum depending on skills, knowledge and experience. Due to the nature of the role, there may be the need to work flexibly outside the working hours in order to fulfil the role.
