The role

Smart Teachers are recruiting for a full time Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work in a ‘Good’ two-form entry in Southwark. The suitable candidates will be working with Pupils with various needs such as ASD, ADD, ADHD and ODD who require 1:1 support. Overall, pupils are well-behaved and simply struggle to concentrate and grasp the core of the lesson, therefore simply requires an enthusiastic individual to help direct their attention within the lesson. There will also be times in which the pupils require strong behaviour management as tends to try and distract other pupils from their learning. There will be no personal care required and the successful Special Needs Teaching Assistants will only need to focus on the one pupil during lesson time and playtimes. This would be a fabulous opportunity for a Psychology graduate who wishes to pursue a career in Educational Psychology or an individual who wishes to pursue a career in Education.

The school

The school has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and we have received extremely positive feedback from staff who have worked there before. More specifically, positive feedback is usually related to how friendly and welcoming the SLT are. The leadership team are mindful of ensuring that all the staff are looked after and there are many opportunities to progress within the school with the regular CPD courses. The school is situated nicely between the train stations of North Dulwich, West Dulwich and Forest Hill stations.
