Job overview

Quest Primary School looking for an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Class Teacher to join our school team. We are a welcoming and supportive school, who work as a team to deliver the best possible outcomes and experiences for our pupils, working alongside parents, carers, TCT staff and external professionals.

What does the role involve?

The main aim of the role is to provide classroom teaching to our mainstream Year 2 class. You will be responsible for the day-to-day progress and attainment of the children, ensuring you plan and teach lessons that inspire and motivate our children to achieve their full academic potential. You will use assessment purposefully to enable all children to make good progress from their starting points and use your knowledge of quality-first teaching to adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND. You will also support the wider personal development of the children through establishing nurturing professional relationships, setting high expectations and providing pastoral support which ensures all children can flourish during their time at Quest Primary, in a warm, caring and supportive environment. Additionally, you will also be asked to lead a curriculum subject area across the school.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced teacher, or an exceptional ECT, who will be able to provide superb teaching in line with our Trust vision of an exceptional education for all. You will be determined to make a difference to the life chances of pupils through your work in the classroom and be a team player who is flexible, hard-working, organised, resilient and passionate about teaching. A good sense of humour, kindness and the ability to work well alongside supportive colleagues would also be desirable.

As a school we feel it is important to hire candidates who share our values and are keen to make a difference, which is why we look for staff to join our team who are enthusiastic, hard-working and keen to support excellent educational outcomes for all our pupils. We are keen to welcome to our team, professionals who are reflective practitioners, and proactively seek opportunities for CPD and further development.

Additionally, The Job Description and Person Specification shown in the application pack will give you a good indication of who we are looking for, including the skills and experience that would make for our ideal candidate. Safeguarding is paramount to us at all stages of the recruitment process and beyond.
