ABOUT CATS LONDON

CATS London is a co-educational independent day and boarding school serving international students aged 15+. The College specialises in preparing students for pre-university exams, including I/GCSEs, A Levels and the University Foundation Programme (UFP). There are approximately two hundred and fifty students on roll, class size average is nine, and students take part in an extensive range of extra-curricular activities including leadership awards and national/international competitions. The College is a member of the Independent Schools Association (ISA) and inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) and was most recently (May 2019) rated "Good". It is located in Bloomsbury Square at the heart of London and counts among its neighbours some of the world’s greatest centres of education, art, fashion and finance.


Overview of the Role

Young Enterprise is the UK’s leading enterprise education charity and aims to have a transformational impact on the lives of children and young people by providing them with opportunities and access to knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the future. As the Young Enterprise (YE) Coordinator for CATS London, you will work collaboratively with the Business and Social Science faculty, senior team, and students to ensure high quality provision of allocated YE programmes and services. This role is available on a 0.4 contract or a full-time contract with a 0.6 teaching element to the timetable, you will need to be able to offer a subject specialism in one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Business, Economics, Financial Trading or EAL.


Main Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the College’s YE provision
  • To advertise YE provision to the student community in collaboration with the SAM Officer.
  • To organise and coordinate a minimum of 3 Young Enterprise student groups.
  • To support students through the Young Enterprise process. This includes business start up, raising funds, roles and responsibilities, bank set up, business plan, product construction, chaperoning on excursions etc.
  • To oversee share and dividend distribution.
  • To arrange YE sessions in ‘club’ slots and within timetable, subject to students’ timetables.
  • To liaise with the YE Business Mentor and ensure open dialogue and meetings between him/her and students. Where appropriate, liaising with SAM Officer with regards to external trips and excursions to ensure compliance.
  • To ensure rigorous monitoring of student progress. This includes weekly log of activities of students, including setting and reviewing of targets of individual students. Set up and maintain systems (including databases and spreadsheets) to record and monitor activities.
  • To ensure all YE registration and admin is completed swiftly and effectively.
  • To administrate and review student voice data.
  • To chaperon students to regional/national competition events as they arise.
  • To undertake any other roles and responsibilities associated with YE.
  • To work with the SLT and students to ensure the smooth running of Programmes and Services, through discussion, planning, reporting, setting up of systems, evaluation, and communication.
  • Set up and maintain systems (including databases and spreadsheets) to record and monitor activities.
  • Provide high level customer service, both internally and externally, to a variety of people including teachers, consultants, and senior leadership team.
  • Provide strong, high-level administrative support to the programme
  • Effectively implement and deliver end-to-end processes to ensure the smooth running of the programme
  • Support with the organisation and delivery of a variety of events and meetings

The school was founded in 2011 under the name of “CATS College London”, joining CATS Cambridge and CATS Canterbury (founded in 1962) and joined by CATS Academy Boston in the US (in 2012). In October 2022 “CATS College London” rebranded to Guildhouse to better represent it's unique geography and educational offering as part of the CGS Global Schools Group.
