Working as a member of the Student Support Team, the Youth Engagement Worker will play a key role in engaging with students around the campus; ensuring that students are attending lessons, that social spaces, corridors and other communal areas in the College are safe and welcoming and that students maintain reasonable standards of behaviour. Providing 1-2-1 support with an identified group of learners in terms of their attendance and punctuality, you will support young people to make positive changes in their lives and help them to develop action plans in order for them to build resilience, develop new skills and achieve their learning potential.

So, if you have experience of working with and positively engaging young people 14-19 years of age from a variety of backgrounds and have an understanding of the needs and issues surrounding them and the difficulties students face, then we want to hear from you.

You’ll hold a Level 2 qualification in a related field such as Childcare, Health and Social Care, Youth Work or IAG and have the ability to listen and communicate with young people in an individual or group setting. The ability to use initiative, organise and prioritise is a must, as is a working knowledge and ability to deliver topics around personal development, behaviour and attitudes.
